Who Am I

This site came about while reading through a considerable pile of mindfulness books and realizing that up until now my creativity had been stuffed into a deep dark hole with nowhere to go.  It was a black hole where light wasn’t allowed out and kept burried for no other reason than I wasn’t creative. Like many people carrying this belief through life, I was drifting through life on a path that was a mixture of successes and grand failures but without color. Mindfulness found its way into my life and shortly after my fitness path turned to powerlifting. Photography was rekindled in the summer of 2015 and with no apparent reason other than the realization that this was a hobby that I had left for dead.

More than anything it’s an outlet and a way to connect. An outlet to find my path along this mindful journey and to view life in different ways. Hopefully the journey is interesting enough to follow and the interests are enough to grab your attention; I won’t be hurt if they aren’t. For those interested I’m always up for connecting and sharing/learning about others interests so feel free to reach out to me.

I’m always looking for new people to connect with in a wide variety of personal interests.  Fitness, mindfulness and photography being the headliners but writing, creativity, and anything geek/nerd related are of interest. Books! Oh wow books on any topic you could think imaginable interest me. Reach out to me at:   MindfulLifter@gmail.com

    1. Hey Heather,

A few of the better ones I’ve read are Ezra Bayda’s The Authentic Life, Lodro Rinzler’s The Buddha Walks Into a Bar, and anything by Pema Chodron. She has quite a few good ones. If you are into the science behind mindfulness Buddha’s Brain by Rick Hanson is a good read. These are some of the more accessible books out there and if you enjoy them you will start to see more of the individuals who laid the groundworks here in North America; Thich Naht Hanh, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and Alan Watts.

      Hopefully this helps!

      Sean
